Madonna and her husband of eight years, Guy Ritchie, have been granted a divorce by a British court.The case of “Ciccone M.L. v Ritchie G.S.” was granted by Judge Caroline Reid in a hearing that lasted just a few minutes.Papers signed by another judge and released by the court said Madonna petitioned for divorce on the basis of Ritchie’s “unreasonable behavior,” but did not elaborate. The judge ruled that he did not need to apply family law in the case. He has accepted an agreement reached by the couple over their assets and children.The divorce can become final after six weeks and a day.British news media reported that the couple had reached a settlement that Madonna will keep the majority of her estimated $445 million fortune and share custody with Ritchie of their two children.Madonna has a daughter from a previous relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon. She reportedly will live with Madonna.Madonna and Ritchie married in December 2000 in a secrecy-shrouded ceremony at Skibo Castle in the Scottish Highlands. Madonna seemed to take to English life, spending much of her time at the couple’s 1,200-acre country estate in southwest England.But in recent years, reports began to accumulate that they were on the rocks. Madonna and Ritchie announced last month they were divorcing. They own homes in London, Los Angeles and New York as well as the rural English retreat.

R&B singer Brandy says she still carries the emotional scars from her horrific 2006 car accident, insisting the incident which left another driver dead has "changed" her life forever.Brandy was driving her Land Rover in Los Angeles when she collided with another vehicle on a busy freeway, causing the car to crash into another driver and slide into the median.The driver, Awatef Aboudihaj, died from her injuries. Brandy escaped the accident unhurt. And she confesses she will never get over the tragic crash and reveals the hurt she felt when people blamed her for the death of an innocent driver.She says, "It was a situation that changed my life forever. I will never be the same. It was pretty bad. There were parts flying and there was a bunch of smoke." I just feel like a lot of people jumped on it because it was something to talk about. And instead of just waiting to see what really happened, they kind of make their own story about it and started pointing the finger and blaming."Brandy is now facing a $50 million lawsuit for wrongful death by Aboudihaj’s family. The trial is set for April 2009.

A woman has been placed on three years of probation following her guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of stalking Sandra Bullock.A felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dropped against Marcia Valentine after she entered her guilty plea to stalking according to the Orange County Superior Court.Bullock obtained a restraining order in May 2007 barring Valentine from contacting her or coming near her home, family or work for three years. Bullock testified in court that on five occasions Valentine left in her yard palm fronds adorned with "weird signs" and "pieces of animal fur."Bullock testified that after Valentine was spotted April 22, 2007, outside her home in Sunset Beach, her husband, Jesse James, went outside and tried to write down the woman’s license plate.Bullock said Valentine screamed obscenities and twice tried to run over James with her silver Mercedes-Benz. James, host of TV’s "Monster Garage," was not hurt.Valentine was arrested the next day by sheriff’s deputies while driving in the area.
