Paris Hilton has always been the prime prima donna on the set of ‘The Simple Life,’ until now. Sources claim that this time around, Nicole Richie has got all the diva attitude during taping of the show’s fifth season. During the shoot, Richie has constantly showed up late, and would impose a deadline on producers, saying “You’ve got me for an hour or two.” Our sources also say that Richie increased her unreasonable behavior to another level during the final shoot of the season, when the all-important “show opening” was being taped. Richie arrived “several hours late” and then gave producers another impossible deadline. After a serious blow-out argument, producers had to call her agents just to get her to stay on-set. According to Richie’s representative, stories like these have been around since production began. She claims, “Nicole was a professional on the set and discrepancies in call and wrap times were par for the course. The season wrapped on time and on schedule. The newest season of ‘The Simple Life’ premieres the end of May, before Hilton begins her jail sentence.

Jennifer Lopez has been ordered to testify in response to a lawsuit which claims she stole the idea for her TV show ‘South Beach.’ Writer Jack Bunick filed a lawsuit last year alleging the idea for the now-cancelled series, which first aired in January 2006, was modeled on a 1999 pilot episode for his show ‘South Beach Miami.’ Judge Henry Pitman has ordered executive producer Lopez, who was one of six defendants named in Bunick’s claim along with the UPN and CBS Television Networks, to provide her sworn testimony in the case. Lopez’s lawyer, Orin Snyder claims Bunick sued “for tactical reasons, in an apparent attempt to obtain some perceived leverage by targeting and harassing her in a case where she has no meaningful testimony to give and no legitimate reason for being named as a defendant in the first place.” Snyder argued that Lopez was not heavily involved in the creation and development of ‘South Beach.’ He added: “She was brought in at a later stage to lend celebrity to the show.” Bunick is seeking unspecified damages and an injunction banning any future broadcasts of ‘South Beach,’ which was canceled in February 2006 after only eight episodes. The show focused on Miami’s modeling and nightclub scene.

Christina Aguilera is set to perform in China, despite concerns her act is too raunchy.She has been given permission from the Chinese government to appear at Shanghai’s Grand Stage for a June concert.A source said: “Not every foreign artist has the luck to win Beijing’s approval and Christina’s sexy performance had been a concern when applying for permission to perform.”It is not know whether Aguilera, whose Shanghai concert will be her only Chinese show during her ‘Back to Basics’ tour, will have to change aspects of her act to comply with China’s strict decency laws.

Elizabeth Hurley’s marriage to Arun Nayer has been marred by an embarrassing oversight, the pair reportedly forgot to pay the minister who conducted their wedding. Hurley married Indian businessman Nayar in a private, secret civil ceremony at Sudeley Castle in England, earlier this year. The marriage was conducted by Reverend John Partington, who asked for his fee to be paid to Winchombe’s St. Peter’s Church in England. But Hurley has been accused of not paying the church charity, according to an inside source. A close friend of the couple says, “Elizabeth is mortified. It was a great Memorial Day Weekend spent swimming, barbecuing, fishing, and enjoying quality meals with friends. Fawcett, who has recently learned the cancer she was fighting at the time of the article has returned, insists the story about her first cancer battle and her apparent death wish caused her “emotional distress.” To add insult to injury, Fawcett claims she has been further upset by the Enquirer after reporters broke the news of her new health crisis before she had the chance to tell all her family and friends about her latest cancer fight. In a statement, her publicist, Craig Nevius, writes, “While Farrah is prepared to continue the fight she began last fall, she is not prepared to allow the tabloids to continue to invade her privacy or use one confirmed truth as the foundation on which to build numerous fabricated articles.”"Stories and headlines such as the National Enquirer’s December 18th cover claiming ‘Farrah Begs: Let Me Die’ can only be regarded as knowingly false and purposefully malicious.
